Sur Mountain Guides ( ISMG) is an equal opportunity service provider and
accredited by the Asociacion Argentina de Guias de Montaña.
We have permission to operate in the Nahuel Huapi National Park as well
in the other farther mountain ranges: Cerro Tronador, Frey, Cerro Castillo,
Cerro San Lorenzo mountain massif, Northern Continental Icecap in the
Laguna San Rafael National Park.
The highest peaks and greatest glaciers of the Patagonian Andes lies in
this Central Region. This world heritage Area is renowned as a fantastic
scenario and ideal training ground for the world's great mountain ranges.
Here, for more than 9 years ISMG has provided an unparalleled guiding
service. We have developed a reputation for safety, professionalism and
commitment to service that has stood the test of time.
Our location provides our clients with tremendous advantage. Careful logistical
planning ensures the sooth running of our trps and more time to enjoy
the mountains. Our intention is to provide you with a complete experience.
Our climbing, trekking, ski touring, biking, etc. are safe , professionally-run
at times, challenging. The combination of the mountain environment , the
guides, the weather, and the other people sharing your experience make
each trip unique. We feel strongly about the environment and adhere to
a Leave No Trace ethic on all our trips. The next programs are climbing

The Infinito Sur Mountain Guides. People of all ages who seek outdoor
adventure without undue risk whether reaching a moderate summit,have found
personal accomplishment exploring this magnificent terrain with us.
The Experience. Whether you join us for day classes, an overnight
trip or longer wilderness journey, you'll find a new appreciation for
the backcountry experience. We often take the route less traveled; you'll
discover new vantage points available to only a few. Our ore experienced
clients are welcome to suggest routes they would like to do. Ask us about
custom trips; we are always pleased to design a mountain experience for
you or your group.
Gear. We provide the climbing and camping gear. From tents , to
cookstoves, to ropes and helmets, we issue all that necessary for the
activities you choose. Bring your own rock climbing shoes or rent them.
Our Guides. Since 1996, ISMG has been leading clients, from novice
to experienced in locations throughout the western Patagonia. Our guides
are familiar with these mountains and the type of terrain appropriate
for various ability levels.
Concern for your personal safety and responsible mountaineering practices
form the foundation of all our climbs and classes.

Daily Classes:
1. Basic Climbing. A hands-on instruction to climbing techniques , rope
work and safety. All ages and skills. Enjoy and immediate climbing experience
with our instructors as they guide you through the proper use of belay
equipment, knot tying and basic top rope climbing. Personal responsibility
and safe climbing are emphasized. Recommended first time climbers. Min.
age 14.
2. Intermediate Climbing. A full day of practice in preparation for the
high peaks. Basic course or previous experience required.
3. Advanced Climbing. Experienced climbers who want additional training
or review in sport climbing or traditional climbing techniques, including
lead climbing, protection placement and anchor building.

Guided Climbs and extended trips:
Guided Climbs.
1. One-day guided climbs that involve learned climbing techniques. We
will help you choose a climb suited to your ability. We will climb in
Frey Mountain Range, Cerro Lopez Area, perfect cracks, in the alpine scenario
of the Nahuel Huapi National Park.
2. Two to 7 days guided trips are more strenuous. Examples include Valle
Encantado Towers, Pico Navidad, Piedra Parada in the Argentine Pampa,
Arenales in Mendoza, Puerto Cardenas close to Chaiten, Cochamo , etc
3. Self Rescue Courses. It is a two days courses teaching the basic knots
and techniques to climb with safety in the alpine climbing. We will give
you the tools to fix up the line in the case something bad happen and
the knowledge to take the right decision in each case. They are the basic
for the rescue in a party of two.
4. Big Wall Clinics. Aid climbing introduction, big wall basical operations,
bivies on a portaledge, hauling, jummaring, etc
Basic course or

Winter Trips.
Between June and Sept. Ask before for the snow and ice conditions.
1. Winter Ski mountaineering
2. Ice Climbing and Peak ascents
3. Winter Safety Course Two days and an evening of instruction in the
skills necessary to begin a log career as a safe backcountry skier and
mountain climber.
