The Volcanoes Area - Back country skiing (20 days)
Patagonia
is a word full of meaning. Strong winds, huge granite towers and hanging
glaciers everywhere. There is also a lot of rain. Patagonia also means
experience, maturity, flexibility… really important adjectives to
describe a good mountaineer. Always we think that we need more experienced
to enjoy this landscape and that's partially true. The most difficult
part in Patagonia is the psychological challenge. We must to be prepared
and really motivated, ready to respond to most unpredictable moments.
Driving thru the less known dirty roads we will visit one of the most
pristine areas all over the world.
Experience
tells us that these challenge are worth the effort many times over as
the quality of a summit day in Patagonia has a beauty that is without
comparison anywhere else in the world.
We
will visit Northern Patagonia where the weather is more favorable than
further south. Our itinerary includes a visit to the Swiss style town
of San Carlos de Bariloche, location of the best skiing in south America.
The
program runs in the winter so we avoid the summer crowd and to enjoy the
best snow conditions.
