Cerro Plomo 5430m/17919 ft, 6 days As a giant bulk of rock and ice, the Cerro Plomo emerges
on the eastern horizon seen from the city of Santiago de Chile. It is
the highest and the most prominent peak visible from town and attracts
everys climbers eye. The easy accesibility makes this mountain a popular
goal for climbers. The normal route is not at all technically difficult,
probably the only problem is the huge altitude difference of 5000 vertical
meters to Santiago. |

It is a good option to
acclimatize for higher climbings, like it could be the Aconcagua summit.
We establish two camps, one at a very nice camp site in this valley and
the next one at the glacier basin. In a clear day we will enjoy really
impressive views of the Aconcagua South Face. |
