Cordillera Real Illimani

Without a doubt this is one of the best ways to combine mountaineering and progressive acclimatization in Bolivia. We climb 4 of the most beautiful Bolivian mountains, increasing gradually the difficulty and height.

Cordillera Real Illimani
Cordillera Real Illimani
We start with a moderate 3 trekking days to leave us in the Condoriri Base Camp and starting point for our first objective: Pequeño Alpamayo 5330m/17,767ft and Condoriri Right Wing, 5482m/18,272ft. After these first summits we head for the Huayna Potosí 6088m/20,293ft one of the most beautiful Andean peaks. From the Bolivian Plateau it looks like an imposing pyramid of ice, but the view changes from Zongo Pass where we see the east face which is long and impressive. Finally the Illimani 21249ft peak is the highest mountain of the Cordillera Real mountain range and dominates the incredible view from La Paz.
