Hut-to-Hut Hiking in Nahuel Huapi National Park (7 days)
Season :From Sept to May
Argentina has an extensive national park system with developed trails and interpretive facilities. Your hiking excursion will begin in Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi, the “Yosemite” of Argentina. The park is huge, covering more than 1.5 million acres of rugged mountains, old-growth forests and some of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The forests along the Chilean border are deciduous, and the giant towering trees such as the Coyhue rival the Douglas firs of North America in height and biomass. Wildlife of the park is unique and fascinating, such as the dog-sized deer (the pudu) and the giant woodpecker (el carpintero negro). Many of Nahuel Huapi’s species are shy and elusive, but flocks of austral parrots are not, and they will constantly remind you that you are indeed in South America. You will hike from mountain hut to hut for about 5 days. This is without a doubt one of the best ways to visit this Park.
